Comprehensive Zoning Code Update
Building on the 2045 General Plan, Envision Contra Costa is undertaking the first comprehensive update to the County’s Zoning Code (Title 8 – Ordinance 382) since its initial adoption in 1947. The update will align the Code with the County’s long-term vision in the 2045 General Plan, creating a clearer, more intuitive framework to support environmental justice, community health, economic development, and sustainability. It will also include related amendments to Titles 2 (Administration) and 9 (Subdivisions) to ensure consistency and usability for both County staff and the public.
